Receiving dire reports of major flooding island wide due to the storm surge, estimated at 30ft. Many people are stranded in their roofs and attics waiting to be rescued. Some Fortune Bay houses under water. Airport under water too. I’ll keep updating as I can.

Sad. No where to go.
Prayers for these people. No one can get to them and the storm doesn’t seem to be moving.
The words of David Mackey were absolutely chilling, “We are literally in the ocean.” Add that with, “We are not even at high tide yet.”
And his house is 15 feet above his neighbors’ houses. The house is built on stilts. Lord willing, those don’t collapse.
and i wonder how sturdy those stilts are and if they will be able to withstand the pounding...
From experience of going through a couple of typhoons . . . it is the constant non-stopping howling that gets you nuts. I remember I had a case of pneumonia when we had one come through the Philippines back in the 70’s. It was miserable.
Someone needs to invent a hand held, like a coffee grinder, method of generating power to recharge batteries.
I hope the people in attics have a way to get out.
I think there already is such a thing. I know there are such radios anyway.
Yeah I found one on Amazon and bought one.
Cool! Some little ones on eBay for charging phones.
That is my concern, waves of water are very powerful. I hope he does ok!
Someone needs to invent a search engine so folks who are unaware of stuff that has existed for over a hundred years can learn about it.

Many portable AM/FM/SW radios have that feature. On the net for under $50.
This reminds me of something a Freeper posted a while back:
Someone in his circle was complaining about always losing their cell phone. Freeper said, ‘Wouldn’t it be great if someone invented a phone that wired into the wall, so you’d never lose it?”
(I really miss landlines. They deactivated them where we live, when they installed cable. But there are all sorts of crank- and solar-gizmos now.)
