From what I understand, she was posing. That and giving all kinds of Aid and Comfort to the Enemy.
Additionally, I have read reports that she was given a message on a scrap of paper by one of the POWs. The report continued to say that she turned over that note to her handlers and that they put a severe beating on the POW who dared to get a message out of that camp.

Would not surprise me at all. Definite treason candidate. And why she was never brought up on charges is a damned disgrace to the people who SHOULD have been doing there job.

That turned out not to be true.
I’m sure she would do it, but she didn’t.
