My husband made puff pastry.....once; and we made those cheese straws. They were very good, but making the pastry from scratch is so much work, when you can just buy the frozen stuff. I didn’t seem to notice much difference.

Agreed. Rolling out puff pastry yourself seems to not have a ton of advantages. Maybe one day when I get interested in making my own cronuts.... but that might happen in my next life. Lol.
