Trump’s lawyers threatened to sue him. There are several threads here already about it. Even with the threat, he still only apologized for reporting it before it was vetted, and claims that there’s still no proof it’s inaccurate.

The retraction was certainly over the top. If they were protecting the source will need to be investigated.

Have you listened to O’Donnell’s so-called apology? That was most definitely not a “hard” retraction. He basically admitted to not vetting the story properly and then said something along the lines of “we don’t know if this is true or not”. It sounds like O’Donnell got pranked by a kid on 4-Chan, and was so eager to damage Donald Trump and his company that he fell for the prank hook line and sinker. If he isn’t fired immediately I hope Trump sues MSNBC into the ground.
I don’t know if it’s true or not that O’Donnell tortures kittens to death for sexual thrills. I honestly don’t.

I think he realized he was trolled by someone purposely organizing “fake news” to embarrass the insane, ideologically possessed MSM.

Co-signers are usually for auto loans and small personal loans, usually to people with no credit or bad credit.

it was simple: Trump’s lawyers sent NBC Universal a letter threatening a defamation lawsuit with evidence that a simple ONLINE search of mortgage records that anyone can perform shows that there were no co-signers for those loans ... given that damages against a President who is running for re-election could reach into the billions, NBCU ordered O’Donnell to retract ... it makes no difference where the fake email originated from: it was a fake ...
The accusation itself fails common sense on its face.
First, Trump has plenty of assets which could be pledged as collateral. Collateral is far more valuable to bank than a guarantee.
Second, how would a German bank go about collecting on a guarantee by a Russian oligarch?
Third, large real estate loans (I assume the borrowing would be real property related) are almost always done on a non-recourse basis. Non-recourse means that the lender can only collect from the income generated by the property (rents or sale) and that the owners are not personally liable.
