My favorite part was waiting to hear how they were going to take a payment. They said they had a PayPal kiosk in the lobby of the Sheriff’s Office. ROFL!
True story... when this dude called me and I told him I knew he was a scammer and to stop calling me, he started into phone sex.
I laughed so hard I almost peed.
I have gotten several of these. If you google the telephone number, it will show up as probably fraudulent......
Elderly people will refuse to let their kids look at their bank accounts for fear that will rob them but they will gladly give their bank info to a stranger on the phone.
That is Suspendious!
I don’t think I would ignore the Federal Reserve if I were you! They mean business!
Good luck arresting the dirt bags. They probably aren't even in this country.
My wife thinks I'm mean, but sometimes I play with THEIR heads just for fun.
The only one that was ever legit was the one from our bank saying our credit card had been used in Lima Peru. Would we care to confirm before they approved the charges?
We called the number on our card and found out that yes they had called us. We use the card so rarely for anything but two bills that they knew this was outside the norm.
So there was one unhappy scammer in Lima.
I keep obozo’s phony SS# and the local DNC headquarters’ phone number to give out.
I got that one. I don’t have a camera on the computer I use for porn.
:)
I get about 3 scam calls a day on my cell phone.
The chances the caller was anywhere near that location are vanishingly small. Spoofing caller ID is trivial.
I was telling one about Jesus and he got into it “But, Sir - I am a Hindu!” Then I said “So you go to your Hindu Temple and the priest gives you permission to commit telephone crime? You should turn to Jesus, instead!”
I like it when they says, “the cops are on their way to your home now, unless,,,,,,. The cops.
I get those same %^%$% calls on my cell phone, several times a month.
The call back numbers are phony of course. People who investigate this stuff tell me that most of the calls originate outside the United States.
I get scammer calls from India and elsewhere on the globe all the time on my phone now. I never bother to answer. It’s totally out of control.
I let calls from numbers I don’t recognize go into voicemail. If it is something legitimate, they leave a message and I can call them back The rest hang up.
You got off easy. I was told my Social Security Number had been SUSPENDED. That all my credit cards and bank accounts would shut down because of the suspension. I only had to pay 458$ to reinstate my SSN!
I get these and other types of calls all the time. According to them there is a warrant for my arrest. LOL!!
I actually did receive a real call from SSA but it was from the person who had set me up for SSI and Medicare part B and was just following up to be sure I was all set.
