Free Republic… Under the pope

Posted on 08/28/2019 9:59:42 PM PDT by RevelationDavid

I’m sure this post won’t stay up long… But as a born-again evangelical I no longer feel comfortable on this site. It has become openly and aggressively pro Catholic. Catholicism is heresy.

Thank you Jim for putting so much effort into this clearinghouse of ideas… But the bombardment of papers nonsense can a longer be tolerated by me.

God bless all who proclaim Jesus Christ as Lord. God bless America

Yes ... a structured Church. He left earthly men in charge of it. But we are fallen creatures and prone to sin and corruption. Jesus knew /knows this. Does that mean hell has prevailed? Nope.

"So [consistent with your either/or reasoning and false premise] the next time you try and claim that the Holy Spirit leads you remember that by definition you assert that the Holy Spirit works with Satan, not Christ." have a nice day

It is quite obvious that God the Father, Jesus the Christ and the Holy Spirit all work with Satan. Or more correctly that Satan works for God.

God (the Trinity) has a plan. That plan as described in the Bible includes Satan. For the implementation of that plan God gave Satan dominion over the Earth.

If I give someone authority over some part of my property as part of my plan it is obvious that the person is doing my bidding. That person is working for me.

You think this guy was just a troll here to cause trouble?

I'm curious, do you think you'd react the same if the guy complained about a Protestant/Evangelical takeover of Free Republic? If he said, "But as a Catholic I no longer feel comfortable on this site. It has become openly and aggressively pro Protestant. Protestantism is heresy."? Would y'all call him a "troll here to cause trouble" or would you encourage the guy and defend him? Care to respond?

His understanding is greater than our understanding and His mercy is greater. He sees all, and we don’t.

The catholiciism apologist at FR do not use ‘Catholic’ to mean Universal. That was what the start of Christianity was in the sense of ‘catholic or holy Apostolic Universal Body of believers. Today these apologists use the word to refer to their ORG (rhymes with Borg), and distain any who would try to revert the word back to its origins from which Romanism has diverged so far away to no longer be Christianity. Catholicism is rife with blasphemies and heresies.

Don’t take the Mark when it is offered to you, even it is accompanied by many signs and lying wonders. Just don’t take the Mark.

Isn’t it interesting how much vitriol and nastiness comes out of some people when their religion is criticized or even questioned? Do they imagine people will be attracted to it at all?

Well, you’re probably not a good fit here anyway. Too much ‘my way or the highway’ kind of guy, an American Taliban kind of guy. I don’t know how you make it through life, not everyone is going to agree with you.

I petitioned to help him finish (he was in his 70’s) but he genuinely did not want me there and was shockingly unfriendly. I just thought I was helping a fellow Christian but apparently I was intruding.

That's weird, don't let it stop you from helping the next guy. You did a good thing.

Ignore this drivel! The poster has been disputed soundly more times than one would think should be necessary to educate oneself but then they blithely repeat the lie over and over as if nobody has ever done so! It’s become comical.

It certainly was a factor when I quit going to the Catholic church the first time around.

said, "The Catholic Church is not Marxist."

I understand. When Obama was running the US personally if I had a choice I wouldn't pay in to the system. Even know the US isn't a Marxist state. Paying into the system helped create more Marxism.

Thank you for your post. I’ve had a few brothers and sisters inform me now, our family is so good.

I have a sincere compassion for people, especially so many awesome FReepers, and I want to see them in the next life too. I tend to get caught up in it a lot and I need to learn when to shake the dust from my sandals. Thanks again!

You're right. Who can forget (or be allowed to forget): "Notice: The daily sport of posting Catholic bashing threads on FR stops today." that gets tossed out whenever one imagines someone is criticizing Catholicism? You'd think a bunch of wusses live here.

Or when they are criticizing Catholicism, but that was not what was disallowed, but the "daily sport" of attacks that a couple had begun practicing, likely being provoked by incessant Catholic postings.

But which was taken by some to meant giving liberty to practice "protestant bashing." Yet while they mean it for evil toward us, by the grace of God it has worked for the good by errors of Catholicism being substantively exposed and reproved in the light of what the NT church manifestly believed, even if some RC seem to be gluttons for such. Back to the martyr complex.
