"I'm gonna... Let me see your hands, dude," an officer is heard saying before immediately firing at Wang. Wang was taken to a hospital, where he remained for a week before the family decided to take him off life support, lawyer Daniel Deng said at a news conference on Wednesday.
Before the shooting, footage shows officers taking the other occupant of the residence, identified by the Cochran Firm as Ai Yue Cai, into the front yard and asking her whether or not anybody was inside the home in English. She shook her head.
Cai did not speak English, according to the Cochran Firm. There had been a clear language barrier, said the family's attorneys, alleging negligent hiring and training among other claims against the Police Department.
Chino police said they later determined that the pair operated another marijuana grow house in Fontana and that they ultimately seized nearly 1,500 marijuana plants, $35,000 in cash and evidence of grand theft of more than $105,000.
According to the family's lawyers, Wang came to the U.S. in 2005 and worked various jobs to support his son and mother in China.

In America 15 years.
Learned not word of English.
Looks like bad shoot to me. Guy hiding, arms down. One asks let me see your hands and one shoots just as sentence finishes, then an oh from one of them. Could be cop pulled on trigger accidentally as he was raising gun.
Murdered the guy...over some pot
They want damages in excess of $10,000 dollars?
Write the check...
....evidence of grand theft of more than $105,000.
Sounds like the grow house was a side line.
You mean negligently, don't you?
If police agencies need speakers of Mandarin, how many speakers of other foreign languages do they need? Will there be a job boom for graduate socialist speakers of foreign languages from our messed up universities?
No, I meant that. It sounded to me the “oh” was half of an “oh shit” by the cop. Plus it went off as soon as he raised it.
Whether he shot on purpose or not, still seems like bad shoot to me.
there’s no such thing as a bad shoot according to some jack boot lickers.

Just need a rich idealistic lawyer's family to adopt the kids.
Wang was wong.
Useless Congress should have fixed this years ago. That was a capitol offense.
Youre right its always a good shoot. No matter what the circumstances. Oh wait there was ONE bad shoot in the last couple of years when a Somali cop (and why do we have Somalis running around as cops? Couldnt he get a job on apirate crew?) murdered a blond unarmed woman. In spite of his fellow officers covering for him he was found guilty, but not to worry Im due hell get off on appeal. This just points out that every law in the USA is backed by the death penalty.
Watch the video. Absolutely no reason for this shooting. And we wonder why the public outlook on police is souring?
Also, note that the police had walked by the door many times. Dude is just standing behind the open door, even my kids can hide better than that. And these superstar police didn’t even see him? And when they did they immediately shot him?
Crazy, and in no way ok in a free society.
Right - don’t grow marijuana unless you’ve got the connections to get a state license. Otherwise the hired thugs will kill you, while the rest of the drug crowd gets their records expunged.
If they would let us see the rest of the video, we'd know...
I’ve seen the video. Tje guy screwed up.

Some people, even some who are very bright otherwise will never learn a second language if they have not learned one before they are 12 or so. Others, some who are not even bright, learn languages as fast as they need them and most of those forget those later tongues quickly when they don’t use them any more. Then there are those who learn languages quickly and retain them like the Dutch and the Overseas Chinese who my speak fluently 5 or 8 languages by the time they are twenty.
