Back in the day (1980s), there were jokes about Chicago Chicana Drivers.
After spending an afternoon as a passenger in my SIL’s car, I realized it wasn’t a joke. Let’s just say she took traffic rules as suggestions and if she was impatient (always!) had no compunction against driving on the sidewalk to bypass a light, intersection, or lawful drivers. And she was sober!
I never drove with her again.
