The most gripping scene, IMO, was when Cranston’s character realized that a piece of the broken plate was held by the person he held captive in the basement.

Yes. And there were so many gripping scenes like that. I knew I liked it by Episode 2 when Jesse ignored Walt’s direction on which plastic tubs to buy...like they’re all the same. :). Walt knows his chemistry.
