When LifeSiteNews initially called Good Shepherd Parish, the employee who answered the phone forwarded the call to the voicemail of the pastor. A second parish employee then told LifeSiteNews that no one was available to comment. Two diocesan employees also told LifeSiteNews no one was available.
Fresno bishop Joseph Brennans secretary told LifeSiteNews that Thursday is the bishops day off. I will forward your message and he can respond to you at his earliest convenience, she told LifeSiteNews via email.
When Salvador Monzon, a member of the parish, first learned about this, I told myself there is no way this can be true, he told LifeSiteNews.
Monzon decided to register his daughter for a confirmation class to see if the gender neutral option was there.
I went on the website, and sure enough, there it was. Oh, I could not believe this, and I was angered by it, and rightly so, he said.
Monzon contacted the parish and spoke with a catechetical director to express his concerns and was told that nothing would change.
She said that there was nothing they can do about it and it was going to stay. And, of course, I tried to explain what the Churchs teaching is on the issue, but she would not have any of it.

Are they letting the 1st graders make the decision or putting down what their parents tell them. 1st graders do not have the maturity to make or understand a decision like that. I remember my 1st graders who couldn’t make a decision whether they wanted vanilla, strawberry or chocolate ice cream.
Parents need to stop this insanity.
Salvation?
I knew the Catholic Church was in trouble before, but now I think we have seen the end of the church as we know it.
I give directly to parish projects which have their own accounta (Youth Group, Respect Life group, St Vincent de Paul (Food Bank) and into other Catholic indepedent voices like Life Site News. I support the Church by supporting the Whistleblowers and the Independent Catholic Media.
No way I'd give to CCHD or Peter's Pence.
And I think thousands, maybe millions of Catholics have fine-tuned where their Catholic charitable dollars go, over the last 20 years and especially over the last 3 or 4 years. There are concerted campaigns to keep $$$ out of the USCCB.
No, we have not yet resisted unto the shedding of our blood. So the end is not yet.
I didn’t leave the catholic church; it left me.
It seems rather obvious you can’t get Salvation through a corrupted organization.
“I didnt leave the catholic church; it left me.”
Same here, after a personal incident that infuriated me the damned folk masses did me in.
.
As corrupt as it may seem FRiend, it is The Way.
At least this poor soul believes so.
excommunicate everybody involved.
Same. My wife and I feel the same way. Every parish is filled with bad people, but I believe the good far outweighs the bad.
If you are a good Christian, it is hard to see how you could make Holy Mother the Church better by leaving her. If you are a Soldier of Christ (as St. Paul says) it's hard to see how you improved the Church's well-being and safety by going AWOL.
No personal judgment here really, because I have no idea what kind of individual you are personally. I am responding only to what you wrote.
This is not meant to insult but the question, and with every good hope for your well-being and redemption.
you support an immoral corrupt church and you call me hireling. LOL
The Chuch stands in desperate need of defense against enemies within and without, similar to the U.S. having to fight enemies "both foreign and domestic." The fact that a person supports the USA --- to extend the analogy --- does not mean they "support an immoral corrupt country."
Those who are loyal, must defend what is right, and fight like h--- against what is wrong.

If the church needs me to defend them, they’re in deep do-do.
You never learned about the Mystical Body of Christ? We --- th Church --- are actually members of each other. We absolutely all need each other.
"The eye can't say to the hand, I don't need you: nor can the head say to the feet, I don't need you." (1 Cor 12:21) To leave the Church, the Body if Christ, is like saying, "I'm a good enough pancreas. I'm gonna set out on my own."
And is the Church is deep doo-doo? Yet indeed it is. Like Noah's Ark. Full of contentious critters. Full of poop. Prepare to shovel. But buddy, do not leave the boat.
shall we keep going or do you have more to teach about?
What would you like to ask about? Or do you have something to tell me?
