I have a hard time believing this woman only lost 40 pounds training for a marathon. I can only assume two things, she has a gland problem, or she continued to seriously over eat.

It’s amazing how NOT ONE concentration camp victim had a “gland” problem.

“oh yes i was in a german concentration camp but thank God i had a gland problem and stayed at 300 pounds”.

No, they became emaciated and died in a most horrific way. Poor souls.

The VAST majority of people who throw out their “gland” problem are deluding themselves.

I was 435!!!! at my highest after years home from head injury.

The “gland” problem was mcdonalds, wendys, KFC, Taco Bell and italian restaurants.

I’m now in the high 280s which means i have to still get rid of another 80 pounds of my “gland” problem

BTW, she looks like i did at my worst if I was ugly :)

My friend is a food junkie.
It’s sad really. But real.
When she gets the urge, nothing can stop her. I think it may be worse than heroin. Simply because it is cheaper and easier to get.

She just cannot stay away from the junk food.
I’m fighting my own demon. Tobacco.

There’s a saying in the running community... “You can’t outrun your mouth!”

Lots of casual marathon runners don’t actually put in that many miles training for a race. E.g., the only time they ever run close to that distance is the race itself. And they often only run “long” one day a week, just ramping up to get to, say, 18 miles as their longest training run before the race.

"I have a hard time believing this woman only lost 40 pounds training for a marathon."

Good for her, seriously.

But in answer to your questions ... her time is about 2.4 miles per hour.

The average human walking speed is 3.1 miles per hour.

That is not to detract from her personal accomplishment ... I can't imagine walking 26.2 miles carrying what for me would be an extra 150 lbs.

But she completed a very long hard slow walk ... she didn't 'run a marathon'.

I hope she is very proud! She deserves to be proud. And I hope she continues her work, so she can live a LONG HEALTHY LITE life!
