I state this as a warning to younger people who think they can run at heavy weights, you will pay the price with each impact to your joints. Lose the weight first and reduce potential debilitating damage. Joints are designed to only take so much punishment. Even the very best athletes suffer from this type of damage later in life and they are in peak condition.
Stationary bike is much easier on the knees. Easy to do intervals on them as well.
My gym has a Peloton, it’s an excellent tool for people just starting out.
