Brown recluse is poisonous enough to kill your cat or dog and give you a bite that may become gangrenous.

One bit my grandmother on the neck and it left what looked like a mini volcano for months. She died of cancer within a year after that. I've always believed it was the spider bit that caused the cancer that killed her.
