Margot Robbie, Charlize Theron & Nicole Kidman Take On Fox News' Roger Ailes in 'Bombshell'

Very quietly this morning, Lionsgate dropped the trailer and revealed the title for their Jay Roach-directed, Charles Randolph scripted movie about the women who take on Fox News Channel boss Roger Ailes: Bombshell.

While we don’t get a glance at John Lithgow’s Roger Ailes in the current trailer, we see Margot Robbie’s Kayla Pospisil (a fictitious news producer) getting on the elevator with Charlize Theron’s Megyn Kelly and Nicole Kidman’s Gretchen Carlson as they head to the second floor — the executive suite at Fox News Channel’s 1211 Ave. of the Americas. Everyone is just calm and cool here. Earlier in the trailer we see Kate McKinnon’s FNC producer looking up at Robbie, to see what’s going on. Pic’s release date, still not specified, will be December.

Conservatives could easily do a movie about MSNBC but never fight so there’s that.

This movie will do the same zero box office as the political hit job “Fair Game”.

Theron and Kidman are batsh!t.

Theron has just about convinced her young son that he is a girl.

I couldn’t even recognize Theron as Theron.

They never learn. They always waste a ton of money on these conservative, hit job, movies. They always flop, and not just a regular flop but a huge embarrassing flop. A few years ago HBO did a movie about Reagan, and they had him calling the First Lady, Nancy Pants. What terrible writing, overacting, and producing. And that’s just one example of many.

Oh God I want to forget about Megyn Kelly.

I went to look at another liberal invention, the Post, and looks like it made $180,000 million worldwide, which was surprising to me. I suppose this Kelly movie might make a little less than that.

Netflix is reliving the past as well. The Great Hack is a documentary that apparently twists itself in knots to ignore the role of social media helping Democrats but blames it for Trump’s election.

Makes you lose hope in America where the Post makes $90 million but a fairly balanced Chappaquiddick only made $18 million.

For sure. Although I read earlier in the week that democrats go the movies way more often then republicans. So maybe it’s preaching to the choir.

Really I wouldn’t have guessed it is ideological but more generational. With a family of six I rely on Cineplex Odeon rewards Visa to pay for our movie visits. One day I took just my daughter, son and I and would have had to pay with real money, and when I say 2 pops and a popcorn was $30 I told them “forget it. No popcorn. Just a movie”.
