Quite a few of the Governors from the Southern States and Texas, spent quite a bit of time trying to lure companies to pack up and leave their high tax states and move South to the low tax/no tax states. Neither Florida or Texas has a state income tax.

Can you imagine living on Long Island, paying those taxes, your company moves to Florida and they tell you you can have a job down there if you move. You sell your 3/2 ranch for about $400k and leave about $10k a year in property taxes behind you. You buy a 3000sf house with a pool, by the beach, your property taxes are a 1/3 of what you were paying in NY, no more snow, no more winter, no more state income tax or NYC income tax(if you commuted in every day). You’re living the life. But, you’re a NY Dem to the bone and you’ll vote for any Dem on the ballot in Florida because how could anyone drive an F250, have a gun, have an American flag on their truck and play country music. Oy Vey!!!!!!!!!

My mom lives in SC, near the Myrtle Beach area. Very Conservative lady from Long Island. Said the place is being ruined by liberal retirees from Jersey and NY.

I never thought of that.

Do states have the power to require a waiting period before one can vote after moving there? :)

Maybe one day WE will have more votes across the country and lose the electoral vote.

Slim, but NY and CA have a lot of people to send to R states.
