Beaver Stadium my arse...I have been to that stadium. It is a giant erector set. That place is absolutely hideous.

Harvard Memorial Stadium: The reason football in the US is still played on a 160 feet wide field is due to Memorial Stadium. The Teddy Roosevelt led commission to reform football recommended a much wider field. Harvard just completed Memorial Stadium and they said no and that was the end of that.

Michie Stadium at West Point: Dramatic setting both the campus and in the Hudson Valley.

Clemson Stadium to me is nondescript except for Howard’s Rock.

The only one I’ve been in is Husky Stadium (Seattle). It’s a pretty scene, right by Lake Washington, and the Fall colors here are spectacular. Too bad the politics sucks.

I have seen The Swamp. I am was so surprised at the relatively small footprint of that place. It is right on campus at a corner.

Thanks. Come to think of it, I think the Oregon State stadium is called Reser Stadium.

The Big House in AA is #1 and the only reason it’s #2 on this list with the Rose Bowl as #1 is due to PC...GO BLUE!

You would LOVE “The Supe” check it out:

The author has written a 5-6 book series, highly enjoyable, and football plays a large role.

It’s right up your alley.

Just curious... have you been there since they completed the bowl? I agree with you by the way. Beaver Stadium had all the comforts of a blacksmith’s anvil.

The Domers stole the Big House to make Notre Dame Stadium. So the Domers should be knocked off the list for plagiarism. If I ever had the time and money I want to go to the Big House and Death Valley for a Sat night game.

Well, it all depends on the criteria for judging things doesn’t it?

For example, in baseball, some people are enamored of Wrigley Field and Fenway Park. They talk of how historic they are, and the links to baseball history. Others say those places are dumps as they don’t have modern restrooms and wide concourses full of souvenir shops and restaurants and other concessions.

So it all depends on the criteria being used to set up top 10 lists such as this one.

I only went to Beaver Stadium once in 1994. I was lecturing in economics at the school. A student sold me a ticket. It was when USC came to Happy Valley. The game itself was non-competitive. There was a redneck I had to sit next to who was absolutely plastered.

I’ve been to 15 Rose Bowl games. USC was in 12 of them and won nine. Of the other three, UCLA beat Ohio State, Michigan beat Washington and Ohio State beat Arizona State.
