A certain former president and first lady have made their mark in Hollywood.
The Obamas settling into new role as Netflix producers, said The Hollywood Reporter referring of course to former President Barack Obama and Michelle Obama, who signed an exclusive production deal with Netflix some 15 months ago, then formed a Los Angeles-based production company called Higher Ground.
More significantly, the couple is now readying their first release, a documentary titled American Factory, which chronicles the culture clash between Chinese and American workers in a U.S. auto glass factory. It is set to debut on Netflix before 139 million subscribers in 190 countries on Aug. 21 and will also be screened in select theaters around the nation.
The film was already cited at the Sundance Film Festival earlier this year. The couples next project will be Bloom, a dramatic series set in New York City shortly after World War II. The former White House residents, meanwhile, appear to be settling in at Netflix.
Netflix staffers describe the surreal experience of an office visit from the president, who reportedly enters the building via an underground tunnel connected to the parking garage, the Hollywood Reporter said. Some have found themselves in a spontaneous conversation with Obama about a project, while others are delighted when he remembers their name from a previous meeting. According to agents, meetings with Obama proceed surprisingly normally, because he makes small talk, the industry publication advised.
The Obamas have also signed an exclusive agreement with Spotify to produce podcasts and will voice some of the productions themselves, according to Deadline Hollywood.

Bet on that documentary to win an Academy Award.
Slobbering liberal Academy members will vote for it sight unseen, to gift the Obamas with another silly trophy.
The people at Netflix don’t kn ow Hussein isn’t Prez anymore
Academy Awards here they come ,LOL
Half an hour of silent, dark screeen.
The Hollywood Reporter. Who said “THERE IS NO OBAMA BIRTH CERTIFICATE” in regards to Neil Abercrombie (the guy knew him).
I heard the THR guy on the radio as I drove into work, saying this.
LATER when played audio WITH HIS OWN VOICE he pretended he didn’t know how that happened.
Somebody got to him.
I listened to the original broadcast live in my car and I listened to his denial afterwards. They had audio of him saying and he still pretended to be dumb.
Please.
Now I don’t know what or what not that Hawaii had.
I’m just commenting on THR.
And BTW, of course the Obama’s are looking at Hollywood. A den of snakes to support them.
He’ll be deserving of those as he was of the Nobel prize.
The meetings go well because “he makes small talk”?
No kidding. They didn’t actually expect him to bring any ability to the table, did they?
What is that hideous lizard-skin material on Mooch’s leg?
Chinese. Of course...who else helps support the garbage that comes out of Hollywood these days?
What a hideous beast.
That little gal is lucky Mooch didnt have her for lunch.
IIRC, that’s a pair of $6,000 boots.
I dunno. Hideous, for sure.
We saw that material for bike-handle grips on girl’s bikes when I was a kid.
There seems to be a wee bit of size difference....
Her skin?
“Is that a skink in your dress or are you just happy to see me?”
It’s a shame what happened to those yellow shower curtains though....
Smells like a remake !
Gung Ho (released in Australia as Working Class Man)[2] is a 1986 American comedy film directed by Ron Howard and starring Michael Keaton.[3] The story portrayed the takeover of an American car plant by a Japanese corporation (although the title is an Americanized Chinese expression, for “work” and “together”).
Talk about devaluing an industry. The Obamas have zero experience in producing, directing, or managing anything. Everyone should just admit it’s a pretend production by a pretend producer, masquerading as .... something.
Their contribution ? Name in the credits. Nice “work” if you can get it.
