96 deg in Scottsdale right now.
A bit of Monsoon muggy but normal for this time of year.

It’s sad to think that southern Texas will no longer have an Arctic climate.
Texas polar bears are bound to go extinct.

100-degree weather could soon become a much more common forecast

cities nationwide could see more "dangerously hot" days as early as 2036.

how hot cities could get during three time periods

"a potentially staggering expansion of dangerous heat

We used to call these "weasel words."

Wrong. Fraud. The current cyclic pattern we are in, which is warm, has warmed the Arctic specifically in the winter via increased water vapor and increased in night-time low temperatures in the mid-latitudes for the same reason.

Little to no change in the tropic regions and little to no change in the daytime high temperatures.

I guess it makes more sense to promote global warming panic when it is actually warm rather than like they usually do during the winter in a snow storm.

I was gonna say that Houston had it’s first 100 degree day and it’s early August?

Sounds like winter is coming early this year!

I live in the Hill Country and we finally had our first 100 degree day this week....all in all, it’s been a fairly mild summer for Texas.

The intense heat combined with a lack of rain has most of Texas battling one of the most severe droughts on record.

That's a bunch of horse hockey. I checked the drought map at noon and there wasn't a single area showing red. Mostly yellows and tans which are the top two levels. Our area is usually red. Even the lib weather folk in Austin have had to admit how cool it's been. Sure, we're going to have normal 100+ degree temps this weekend but that's the first this year. A couple weeks ago it was record shattering unheard of cool 89.

Guess that summer of 115 when I sat in front of the fridge with a wet towel back about 1978 was just my imagination. A few summers ago we had 100+ temps for 100 days. This summer is nothing. I leave the windows open until about mid afternoon when it hits 85 inside temp before turning on the a/c.

Although I don’t think even he could have convinced Germans that 3 year olds should be able to decide what gender they are

Actually, he convinced Germans to end the first experiments with transgenderism and to burn the "research" papers at the sex research institute where the surgery was being done.

The past few days have got Houston ALMOST to normal this summer. Since the beginning of summer (June 21, 2017), Houston has averaged a high temperature of 93.65 degrees. The 30-year average for the June 21 - August 8 period is 93.67 degrees.

Yes, Houston used to be known for mild summers with low humidity - remind me again WHY Colt Stadium had to be replaced by the Astrodome in 1965?

Not in my lifetime. I remember being there
when the heat and humidity were both 100.
It was not atypical and was fifty years ago.

The report analyzed four different heat index thresholds - above 90°F, above 100°F, above 105°F and "off the charts" - to show how hot cities could get during three time periods - historical, mid century and late century...wow - deep stuff - meanwhile Philadelphia celebrated the anniversary of the hottest day ever recorded in the city this week - 106 degrees - "off the charts" according to this very scientific analysis - "no other day even comes close" said the TV weatherman - funny thing is, the date was August 8th - 1918 - pretty "historical" - since I think Philadelphia is as representative of what "typical" temperatures would be as is Houston, it looks as though these "scientists" have a bit of recalibration to do on their global warming intimidation project......
