Exactly. And this is exactly why there was no indictment for the Comey leaks which, at best, would have been a weak case.
The left laughed at Trump every time he mentioned "witch hunt", but that's exactly what the left will accuse Trump of doing if there is ever an indictment. And they will accuse him of seeking revenge, and wanting to fill the jails with political prisoners (just like their heroes in Cuba, Venezuela, Red China, and the USSR).
And those accusations will be multiplied by the number of "reporters" who parrot those charges. It will be a relentless and brutal attack that will be calculated to taint any possible jury pool.
Any indictment must be backed up with evidence that is absolutely airtight and be based on charges that will be so obvious and clear to the average low-information voter that there can be no doubt. Technicalities and obscure legal concepts won't do the job.
And even that might be enough. And given the political environment, the best you might be able to do would be plea bargains.
The proverbial "800 lb. gorilla" is the 2020 election. Everything the left will do is geared to getting Trump out of office. Once Trump is re-elected, and I pray that he will be, everything changes.
And all these "Trump's-done-some-good-things-but-he-isn't-perfect-so-I-won't-vote" people need to face the fact that Trump is truly our last and only hope for saving the Republic. If Trump loses, the consequences will be far worse than any non-conservative thing Trump could ever do.

302s are the FBI reports agents use to document interviews with people. So this would be the official written notes in FBI interviews with Bruce Ohr.
To the extent that Bruce Ohr is rumored to have told the FBI that the Steele dossier was a worthless pile of lies, there is the hope that one or more of these FBI 302 reports noting Ohr’s interviews would provide incontrovertible proof that the FBI knew or should have known that the Steele dossier was false, and therefore could not be used to apply for a FISA warrant to the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court.
Cliffs notes: We are hoping the FBI’s own documentation shows the FISA warrant on Carter page was fradulant and those signing the original and 3 renewels for the FISA warrant should be criminally liable for lying to the FISC court.

I am completely bummed since Barr decided not to prosecture Comey for perjury and leaking classified documents. My “hope” quotient has tanked since then. I guess we’ll see. Barr needs to eventually indict somebody high in the food chain at FBI/DOJ/State Dept. to restore my hope. I don’t want fall guys and stool pigeons. I want to see the real conspirators high in the government in prison orange, not the bottom dwellers who were just following orders.

Trump is thus far a great President that is also fallable. He isn’t anointed, he doesn’t walk on water, he doesn’t speak in tongues and provide us the date of the rapture. He is a man who makes mistakes. Pointing those mistakes out is holding our leaders accountable. I seem to recall before Trump this was a good thing but now the whole world has turned Uber sensitive so who knows.
I’ll also point out isn’t it kind of sad that the Canadian you poke at has probably forgotten more Constitutional knowledge than you or I will ever know. I’m with Trump but I’m also with Cruz. This isn’t an either or proposition.
I have very clearly expressed my personal opinion of Cruzbots. My mind’s not changing.

It will. Everyone has to keep in mind that Sessions spent two years doing nothing as did Huber. Barr has to go back to the very beginning, validate all documentation as does Durham. No one knows what landmines were buried.
We keep hearing from Hannity and others that this will come to a head. However until Barr can say that all documents relating to FISA and FBI/CIA communications are authentic and no traps have been set, this speculation will continue.
All I can say to everyone is be patient. There are both legal and political obstacles as well as a strategy to look at. Especially with an election 15 months away. Everything from a political standpoint has to be coordinated for maximum damage. Legally, there are things going on in the background that no one, not even Hannity and his crack reporters are aware of.
