America's top party schools REVEALED: Syracuse University crowned wildest college [tr]

Syracuse University has been named as the country’s best college - but for drinking, drug consumption and frat parties, rather than academic excellence.

The New York institution was awarded the unfavorable accolade by the Princeton Review, following a survey of 140,000 students across 385 difference schools.

The top 20 list, released this week, ranked schools across the US on drug and alcohol use, time spent studying or in class, and fraternity culture.

In total, the schools are ranked under 58 separate categories. Syracuse came in second place on the ‘Lots of Hard Liquor’ category, eighth in the ‘Lots of Beer’ category, and a respectable 19th in the ‘Reefer Madness’ rankings.

I remember these lists from 30 years ago. Usually schools in the middle of nowhere like Chico State or Slippery Rock would make the list.

I remember a Playboy article about something like "College Women of the Northeast" back in 1973.

The first line of the article was "Welcome to Syracuse, the party school."

Forty-six years ago.

“drinking, drug consumption and frat parties”
Just what could those 3 things possibly lead to? eh?
S.E.X! And that’s the intention. It’s to destroy any value system the kids might have picked up from their parents and church.

Arizona State University was also high on those lists. Not even in the top 20 now...

Where was Faber College?

Allegedly in Pennsylvania (though the film was shot on the University of Oregon campus)

I remember a Playboy article about something like "College Women of the Northeast" back in 1973.

I never knew Playboy actually had articles. My friends would also mention these articles but I could never find them.

My alma mater is the Univ of Miami, FL (1978) which is not in the top 20. It has always had a rep for parties but I found it a pretty good school for both learning and having fun.

LOL! Tulane made it! At least they’ve done well in something. With football, the cheer was “Too little, Too late, Tulane!”

University of Wisconsin, Madison was typically not rated, on the rationale it is unfair to rank professionals alongside amateurs.
