Efforts to curb greenhouse gas-emissions and the impacts of global warming will fall significantly short without drastic changes in global land use, agriculture and human diets, leading researchers warn in a high-level report commissioned by the United Nations.
The special report on climate and land by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) describes plant-based diets as a major opportunity for mitigating and adapting to climate change ― and includes a policy recommendation to reduce meat consumption.

The UN isn’t telling me what to do - EVER!
Only if they're made from plants ;-)
I only wear natural breathable cotton.
And I wear them forever. Natural carbon sequestration. Maybe I should leave the streakers in for flavor. 😉
Barf. Nothing looks appetizing.
Organic free range liberal is where it’s at. Solves two problems in one swoop.
These people who think there’s going to be a meat shortage have never had to do battle with wild hogs, Asian carp or raccoons. The only thing that might conceivably cause a food shortage would be if we adopted socialism and confiscated all guns so that socialism could run its deadly course.
Lost of marginal lands in the USA that are no good for crops but great for MEAT!
(mini) PING!
[[others, let me know if you want on my LOW CARB PING LIST. I will let you guys know when there’s news out there on the subject, or if we’re under attack, as in this case]]
The battle lines continue to be drawn. The UN, once again tasked with either following the science, or following Leftist politics, has again chosen Leftist politics, even to the point of condemning 10s if not 100s of millions of people to the torturous death of Diabetes.
Are they aware that forcing people onto high carbs will have such an effect that even Stalin and Chairman Mao would blush? Probably - it’s not a state secret. But they continue with it. Why? My thought is that they know that only a small percentage of people in the world have the resources and infrastructure to get off carbs, and so the other 90% or so have no choice. So why not force it on the remaining people?
But this illustrates what we’re up against, and it is a good example of how, if our side doesn’t engage, they will simply crush us.
And make no mistake, there are only 3 macro-nutrient groups - fats, protein, and carbs. And protein will never get above 20% of calories, due to practical considerations - so all that’s left are carbs and fat. Reduce one and the other goes up. Eliminate one, and the other WILL go up to compensate. Get rid of fat (i.e., meat), and Carbs will go up, and people will suffer - BIG TIME!
No is right. We are omnivorous. Those of us with Northern/Neanderthal ancestry especially dependent on red meat. A grain diet is for slaves.
“”warn in a high-level report commissioned by the United Nations.””
WOW - That is serious stuff....HIGH LEVEL, no less. When do we reach our limit of imbecilic statements/reports? We must be getting close.
You're too good to them!!
