I went to the Naval Academy many moons ago. From my limited knowledge of the current situation, the reason people are unhappy is they feel that they are part of a Naval social experiment to be inclusive.

If you look at the alumni magazine articles you would think that the place is half female with a large mix of minorities, but if you look at the class sections you see the overwhelming majority are white guys. So how would you feel if your school was actively trying to minimize your contributions and presence?
