I'm speechless. So many things would not have been invented, so many everyday things could not be done without math.

This is what our society is coming down to. Don't get math? That's OK, there are many other worthy occupations you can do. But no, let's go after those that, fortunately for society, do get math.

She teaches math “eddikashun”. A degree in eddikashun is worth as much as a twenty year old lottery ticket. Even less. Any STEM 1st year calculus class would probably give the poor creature heart failure. And a “Calculus on Manifolds” course would eject her from the multiverse.

Note to politicians, journalists, and ISIS t*rds: In this case, ‘manifolds’ does not refer to car exhaust tubing.

Go to “thecollegefix” article, this person does NOT have an actual degree in mathematics! She is a MathEd & Latino Studies professor. Her contact with real Math (Calculus, Linear & Abstract Algebra, Differential Equations, etc.) probably comes from walking past the door where it was being taught!

I don’t like people in a certain club.

But I earn the qualifications to be in the club (sort of), and the open-minded members of the club invite me to join.

Instead of saying “I don’t want to be in your club because I don’t like you,” I go ahead and join the club, in order to destroy it.

An honorable person would say “Thanks for inviting me, but I’m not going to join your club because I have deep philosophical differences with how the people in your club see the world.”

But I’m not honorable, nor am I honest. I can’t create the thing I’ve been invited to be a part of; I can’t even add anything meaningful to it. But I can be remembered for destroying it.

If only she had been my teacher in high school, as I was failing math!

“Sir_Ed, your answer is wrong, x=11!”

“But teacher, Math is racist, I feel I should be given an A!”

“Well said, young man...here’s an A!”

Liberals rely on ignorance and incompetence, so they naturally rebel against anything requiring mental acuity.

This is a classic example of Leftism.

Leftism denounces reality. They protest reality.

They claim reality *must* conform to their vision.

It is, literally, insanity. X must be Y, because I want it to be so!

unearned privilege for math professors, who are disproportionately white.

Can’t be true. I just googled “American mathematicians”...

reconceptualize what mathematics is and how it is practiced

One gun + One shooter = an innnocent death

or one good guy + one shooter = dead murderer

Simple math!

Against truth and knowledge? That’s the (so far) unacknowledged platform of the Democrat Party.

What a pile of crap. So now the morons want to teach that math is situational and political.

Ha ha ha. What an idiot, and the libs and snowflakes go for it.

The west is done. All that is left is for the illegals and Muslims to take over and kill the rest of us.

In some cities algebra was proposed as an elective-only for high school because maff is hard. The solution was raised to keep kids from failing.

And the parents reacted. They told the school boards to stop dumbing the kids any further.

My 7 year old Chinese American Grand daughter already does division and multiplication and is learning simple algebraic equations She loves math.

Our family expects the children to learn.

We have to read 5 paragraphs before we are told that this is a “she.” As if it weren’t obvious from the first.

This thing is obsessed with words like “latina,” “Latinx,” “Black,” “mathematx.” It obviously has no idea what mathematics is and is not fit to teach it, because it rejects objective truth and the logical principles upon which mathematics is based.

An affirmative action hire.

Some mathematical entities neither commute nor associate. Do they have privilege by definition? Check your postulates.

NOTE: She teaches the 'instruction of mathematics' rather than teaching mathematics itself.

From her college's profile; "Dr. Gutierrez' scholarship focuses on issues of identity and power in mathematics education, paying particular attention to how race, class, and language affect teaching and learning."

In short this is academia playing to the victimhood and identity politics. I'd GUESS that if a cafeteria on campus offered a burrito, she'd call it cultural appropriation!
