He has that backwards.
He's pleased a VERY small minority and upset a huge majority, and business losses which he seemed pleased as Punch with.
Now there's an example of delusion if ever I saw one.
Huh? Explain.
Gillettes ad campaign features the now-inevitable Kate Upton.
Who is the (Dollar) target customer? Just regular American guys who dont like getting ripped off and who value their time,
and
(Harry's) customer tends to be a 25- to 45-year-old guy who is kind of grown up and considered and thoughtful about purchase decisions and wants a brand that speaks to him as a mature adult,
There it is, so plain-as-day. The upstarts 2 years ago see the old guard treating their clients as malleable, seduced into overpaying for a commodity via glitz and a model. They decide to treat their clients - normal mature guys who want a close shave (and not a virtual reality experience) at a fair price.
Today, the upstarts have gained market share. The old guard, wondering what happened (I'll tell you what happened...you thought your clients would overpay for a commodity under the illusion that it would get them a girl like Ms. Upton), decided that a 180 was in order: forget the lunkheads who are no longer customers; We think there is a new demographic we can get to overpay - the metropolitan man who reads the Times, is saddened by the color yellow, hates himself as his brother, and loves tofu.
Aren't they glad they hired a great Madison Avenue firm?
Guys giving others guys advice on how to shave?
Here’s some free advice just for you: you spend too much time worrying about what’s gay. You’re welcome.
If the shoe fits

That is an excellent point. +1.
I have a safety razor. Every time I used it, I called the Red Cross to stop by with a bucket so I could donate blood.
I’m tempted to try the Feather blades, but I really like the Dollar Shave Club blades and my shaving soap / brush.
Says the one who brought it up.
Since the shoe fits, wear it.
At 25-cents/blade, cheaper, too.
I use the Rockwell 6C razor with 6 settings (mild to aggressive) for the puuuuuufect shave and no slashing using basic shaving techniques.
#18 Walmart prices:
Equate 4 Blade Disposable Razors for Men, 3 count
$2.73
Gillette Fusion Pack of 4 Refill Razor Blade Cartridges
$11.57
I use the Fusion and it lasts most of the month before I need a new blade.
I have not tried Equate so do not know how long the blade lasts.

Costcos Kirkland brand three blade razor is the best value. About $20 for the handle and 14 cartridges. Cartridge will last for for at least one month. The three blades are spaced just far enough apart so they dont get clogged with hair. Quick rinse and the hair is gone. Handle is sturdy and comfortable.
Best handle and blades I have ever used; and Im 66.
Bic isnt smooth but what is? Shaving gel was a masterful stroke.
Shaving gel is mana raining from heaven!!!
The dollar shave blades come from a South Korean firm called Dorco. The name may not translate great into English but you can subscribe to their promos: Just head over to their website. Once or twice a year they will offer a 50% off sale. And you can just order a year’s worth of replacement blades that are equal in quality to Gillette. And they are already cheaper to start with and if you wait for the 50% it’s a no-brainer. I’ve been using their stuff for about five years now.
“Why not change to THE sharpest blade from a Japanese company that produces medical blades?
The absolute closest shave and only 25-cents each...and waaaaay better than any multi-blade cartridge.
I just bought at age 60 my first Safety Razor, it literally came yesterday. I didn’t want to break the bank if it wasn’t for me so I went with a decently rated Mercur 33c Razor on Sale for $20. Surprisingly a German brand that best I can tell is still made in Germany. I added 10 Feather blades based on a recommendation on another FR thread from a few days ago. I will give it a whirl tomorrow.
Also tried Harry’s and found the rubber “swivel” piece made it no fun to use.
Switched to Schick after the first flap about “toxic masculinity” and fount the Quatro Titanium to be decent and recently picked up the Hydro 5 and find it fine to use...took a few to figure out that the extra flexible “shock absorber” had a slide that stiffened it up and that the top lube/shield flipped back for close trimming, but after 2 weeks have decided I like the options.
I used Gillette for a number of years. When I started shaving, I was using one of those safety razors that some Freepers rave about (some on this thread). I would often cut myself, and the experience always left my face irritated, like too much skin was being scraped off.
The Gillette Trac 2 really changed shaving for me. By the end of my Gillette days I was using the Fusion Power razor which included a multi-blade cartridge (with one trim blade on the back). The head pivoted back and forth as well as left and right, and vibrated. I never cut myself with that razor (and I always use Edge shaving gel).
After Gillette became woke, I switched to Dorco razors and blades.I was able to find one with a comparable cartridge. The head pivots back and forth, but not side to side, and it is a battery-powered vibrating razor. I shave as close and do not cut myself and I shave every day. The cartridges do not clog up because I rinse them clear with hot water. I dry the blades with a blow dryer when I am done. A cartridge lasts me about a month.
