I am, annually, in a death struggle with wild blackberry bushes in and around my backyard garden.
I have to keep plucking them out with the shovel which never gets all the roots out and they come back.
I stumbled into the Imperial Cruiser root yesterday. The thing was bigger around than my forearm.
Felt good to get a big win even though I know next week I will be back out there with the shovel pulling out another garbage can worth of new starts.
We have the wild and aggressive growing Himalaya blackberry. One of Luther Burbank’s experiments that he regretted. The fruit is large and so is the seed inside. I’ll post a photo of a patch in my neighbor’s yard...
