Equifax breach settlement: You're not getting that $125. Here's why.

Class action lawsuit, each member of the class gets pennies, the lawyers get half the total sum.

That's why you see lawyers advertising on TV for users of RoundUp, etc.

That’s why the trial lawyers and Democrats are now trying to pass laws to blame the drug companies for the “opiod crisis.” Let’s not deal with the fact those drugs are actually coming in from Red China through Mexico.

One of these days you are going to need pain killers and will find out they won’t give them to you any more even if you legitimately need them. It’s already happening.

Years ago I was notified by a law firm that, as a Blockbuster card holder, I was party to a class-action suit against the video rental giant. Somebody brought suit because of exorbitant late fees. I forgot about it until months or years later, I and all the other card holders got a coupon for one free rental. The lawyer got $16,000,000.

There was a class action lawsuit in a company I worked at years ago. It was about employees getting emails sent to them after working hours who would then feel compelled to respond to them. So the employees sued for the overtime they felt they were owed.

Really a BS action because the company never expected the employees to respond on their own time in the first place (or to even respond at all as most of the emails were just announcements).

Anyway, for months, as this dragged on, more and more employees signed on to this so that they could share in the "windfall".

Sure enough, the company settled and by the time the lawyers took their cuts, all the employees got a check for something like $155. When they were expecting thousands!

Then our IT department had to set up the email system so that hourly employees would not receive emails outside business hours.
