There’s plenty of alternatives to using their overpriced shaving products. Hell, I’ll grow a full beard before I ever buy another one of their products.
I stopped buying their products and I had used them for years. You can’t throw out gratuitous insults and expect customers to stay.
Good for them. I hope they go out of business. Sexist pig losers.
“Gillettes CEO and president, Gary Coombe, says that angering some consumers with its #metoo campaign was a price worth paying”
The TOP RESPONSIBILITY of a company is to increase shareholder worth, provided it is compliant with applicable laws and regulations.
This above quote is simply grounds for a Shareholder LAWSUIT. That simple.
Keep boycotting.
Sometimes the news just makes you smile and have faith in humanity again.
JC Penny’s and Nordstrom and a few other companies learned the hard way too that they’re dealing with like 11 or 12% of the country.
P&G sells a lot of products. I’ve been replacing everything I can with competitors’ products. Not just razors and blades.
Gillette is dead to me.
I used Gillette products for over 60 years. My father and uncles used Gillette products for their entire adult lives as did my grandfather. This combined period covered every American armed conflict from The Great War, WWI, through the Persian Gulf War.
I purposefully cite these wars. King Gillette and his company sent their razors to war with the men of my family. We, and millions more men did our duty defending our homes, families, and country. This is part of what men do, building and defending civilization.
But Proctor & Gamble's Gillette has seen fit to spit upon all men and their sacrifices in a paroxysm of toxic feminist smug self-righteousness.
This is beyond the pale. I will never again purchase a product carrying the Gillette name. And I am ridding my life of all P&G products.
By its insulting behavior, P&G has thrown away over a century of Gillette brand loyalty. My advice to its executives; "Invest in panty shields. You're going to personally need the product."
It wasn’t all men they insulted. Just White men. They had a Black man making him behave.
Sorry, but I seriously doubt it was due to the ad.
Maybe people should boycott at Gillette Stadium this fall.
It’s just Proctor & Gamble living up to its logo.
I’m done w/ their products. Hard to avoid, though, given everything they own.
Best thing to do is buy private label, as store brands are kicking branded products ass. This about groceries, but same applies to HBO products: “Store Brands Cut Into Big Food”

I’ve had a beard since ‘78
so I’ve got no pokers in this fire,
And I ain’t shaving no private parts
but Gillette’s marketing has been
incredibly tone deaf and just plain stupid.
We’ve been strictly a Schick family for years now. That said, I did own PG stock, which I sold immediately after seeing that disgraceful ad. I’m glad I did.
I use Wilkinson Sword blades myself, and have for many, many years.
Maybe a year ago, I found a still new package of double edge blades in my medicine cabinet. I knew I still had a couple of old razors in my kit.
I found one and decided to give the old double edge a try. I did go the whole route, placing a hot towel on my face then using shaving cream.
I was a bit surprised that it was a totally acceptable shave. Not quite as good as the 3 or 2 bladed ones I currently use but certainly not that bad.
I showed that ad to 2 millennial conservatives I work with. Both solid guys. However, both of them saw nothing wrong with what they are saying in that ad. I contained my explosion, and as calm as I could asked them several questions about it pointing them to the end, which was, What business does a razor company have with lecturing men on how they feel men should act!? Screw Gillette! Make the best razors for the best price. And make you money that way. No need to insult and toss allegations out there.
Both after thinking about it agreed. Be vigilant.
