But, IIRC, why didn’t you ask your AZ mining CEO buddy about it? He might have mentioned....
“Rosemont is not owned by Rio Tinto.”
Or is it? Canadians, eh?

Yep...we’re divisive and fascist alright.
Hey, AZLiberty....You forget to call us “thread Juden”.
Sorry, haffast, I thought you had ridden off into the sunset after your acrimonious divorce.
Why didn't I ask my "AZ mining CEO buddy"? We were on a non-profit museum board together a decade ago. The museum was dissolved by the State of Arizona in favor of a political mazola party that never happened, and I didn't maintain contact with the Resolution CEO (who no longer seems to be associated with Resolution, anyway).
This article from The Nation notes what a queer deal was given to Resolution, written as a last-minute rider into a critical military appropriations bill by McCain and Flake. According to the article, the bill simply hands over $100B+ in copper to the British-Australian consortium, with almost most no compensation/royalties to the Apaches (whose sacred land is being appropriated), Arizona, or the U.S. This would be like Alaska giving over the North Slope to Exxon with no expectation of any ongoing royalties.
The project is being halted, at least temporarily, on environmental grounds, but the underlying corruption deserves deep investigation.
