The China trade talks are front and center in this. China has become a major financial power by schmoozing the U.S. dollar. During the Clintooon Admin the deficit with China was about $45 bil a year; now it is about $450 bil... great for China but unsustainable for America.
Prez Trump is trying to woo manufacturing back to the US. That is the key to trade balance and it is enraging the Never Trumpers who have been exposed for what they are: liars and fellow travelers. These are the people that gummed up the soon-to-be China trade agreement by telling the Chinese that Trump will not be president in a year and a half.
So POTUS is doubling down by placing moderate tariffs on about $300 bil of Chinese imports. The Chinese threaten to raise tariffs on ??? They have already put tariffs on $30 bil US imports, but they don't import much from the US; they have not complied with importing more US agricultural products as agreed. They are once again devaluing their currency in order to ease the financial strain of the US tarrifs.
The answer is to do what POTUS is doing: lure manufacturing back to the US from China - and other countries. IMO China is acting foolishly especially since they don't have a lot of financial cards to draw from their deck; I had predicted they would do otherwise. We need to support POTUS DJT in these various trade talks - it is vitally important.
AND, those billions of dollars we are harvesting from China -- why not use some of that money to build the wall along the southern border?
