I really hate the propaganda push here.
The reason this story is getting so much press is because the mainstream media and the Left are pushing the “assault weapons” angle with it. If the guy had successfully killed more people (say, five) with a revolver, this story would have be minor national news.

A California resident cannot buy a firearm in Nevada. The shooter had to have had a Nevada drivers license to purchase the rifle.
