There was no way to hit the UK with the same force as hitting the USSR — the Luftwafe threw everything it had and lost. But on the east you have basically one big plain from Siberia to Germany - ideal tank country.
The Germans could not have used the same resources to invade England.
The biggest mistake the Germans made was shifting from tactical bombing to terror bombing civilians in London and Coventry, it stiffened the Brits’ resolve.
There was the possibility that had the Germans refrained from bombing London, over time, the Brits would have been more inclined to sue for peace. Hitler never really wanted to invade England, he just wanted them neutralized, to free him up to attack Russia.
