I don't think that he has to "apologize"...
I don’t get it.
Buyer was Calif resident, buys Nevada gun ONLINE and picks it up in Nevada..?
That doesn’t make sense.
You can order an out-of-state firearm but you must use a Calif. dealer as an intermediary and I think you must pick it up at the biz address of that California dealer.
At least that’s the system I once knew.
I agree.... that said you never know how something like this might affect a person when they feel connected to something so evil. Can’t blame him for feeling the need to apologize.
This place did nothing wrong.
Next time apply appropriate ESP and exercise prior restraint.
FFS what idiots we have running gun shops!
“Nevada gun shop apologizes...” is false and bait. Nothing in the CBS article demonstrates the claim in the headline and first paragraph that the gun shop owner apologized.
Always question media claims.
Never assume they report accuarately.
Do not take their bait.
“In England, company that sold attacker a bench grinder and pawn shop that sold the set of silverware containing the butter knife the attacker ground down to a sharp point to stab the victim - apologized and promised to be more careful in the future regarding to whom they will sell a bench grinder or butter knife.”
i.e. this is stupid.
CBS......
“...Nevada gun shop that sold an assault rife (sic)...”
Another of those evil assault rifes.....
” The owner of the Nevada gun shop that sold an assault rifle...”
The store owner needs to get over it because he didn’t sell the killer an assault rifle.
Such BS.
Nothing about this sounds good, and I think this dealer should have remained silent. I am having trouble wrapping my head around a CA resident going to buy a gun in NV online. Normal procedure would be to have it shipped to an FFL near you.
NEVER apologize. The SJWs will now try to drive him out of business.
Good grief.
Isn’t it funny how some stories get way more play than others?
By which I mean a story where three people died via “an AK-47-style assault rifle” will usually get more coverage than five deaths with a revolver.
Almost like the media has an agenda.
Why?
The gun shop did no wrong.
If it was a hardware store and they sold the axe used in an axe murder, they aren’t to blame.
A gun is just a tool. Blame the user not the dealer.
Not anyone’s fault but the sicko’s who pulled the trigger.
It's not the shop's fault...it's not the firearms manufacturer's fault...it's the SHOOTER'S fault.
Nope. No apology. They did their job.
Can someone explain why the FBI was present at the Garlic festival prior to the shooting unless they were waiting for him and knew he was coming?
I never hear anyone apologize for the gang bangers who kill people in Chicago with guns..the gun owner has nothing to apologize for, the perp bought the gun, picked it up in person, I assume he passed a background check with flying colors at 19 years old did he have a criminal record otherwise there is nothing this guy could have done
There is a lot of speculation and ignorance on this post. The culprit was a Nevada resident that legally purchased the rifle as detailed by the Gilroy Chief of Police. The killer broke the law bringing the gun across state lines. Yep, a lot of good that silly law did. He broke the law as well if he purchased the ammunition in Nevada and brought it over the border as well. He probably broke the speed limit on his way to Gilroy too. He broke another law by having magazines that holds more than 10 rounds. None of this prevented a killer with a sick mind and evil intent. How was the gun dealer supposed to know or prevent all of this. This killer likely would have also passed a back ground check if he purchased a similar type of legal semiautomatic rifle in California without the evil assault rifle features as found with a featureless legal rifle. In the end those that abuse weapons bare the responsibility. More people died in California that day from abusing drugs and liquor but we don't hear about alcohol prohibition anymore. How many drunk drivers hurt or killed people over the weekend? How many people texting on their phones hurt or killed people. Banning guns is not the answer. If a concealed carry permit holder had been in that crowd he could have prevented more deaths just as quickly as the first officer on site responding did.
