I think I need a lot more info, he keeps saying how depraved it is and you need a stomach for it, makes you cringe, etc.. also did he say the false heroes are corporate types? I sense a depraved depiction of capitalism.

Immediate warning sign, the main villain is a bleached blonde guy to resemble Trump. They ruined Stranger Things with that ploy (along with the surprise lesbianism).

I think you are understandably worried, but not in this case, assuming it is like the graphic novels.

There is no particular political viewpoint, except that power corrupts.

The main bad guy was a literal Nazi scientist who experimented on people in camps, back in WWII. His technology was picked up by a shady American defense contractor, much like Operation Paperclip in real life.

And by squeamish, I’m talking about a scenes where a power mad guy kills a baby because he didn’t consider normal humans as remotely significant, except as a means for enjoyment.

I made it through 2 seasons. Too gory for me but Season 1 was really well done and the casting was just terrific - particularly Millie Bobby Brown.

But in Season 2 and Season 3 the gore continued and the show became very repetitive and predictable. Not nearly as much fun as Season 1.

I will confess that I get bored pretty easily and so long series like Outlander and such just can’t hold my attention. Same reason: repetitive and predictable.

Your milage may vary, however, so I recommend a look at Stranger Things for at least one season.
