“”” family-friendly genre, with dark twists and unapologetically graphic scenes of sex and violence. “””

ok

I’ll pass

What is the “bottom line” message. Who are the good guys and bad guy?

Given that everything today is politicized to the max, and entertainment is 95% leftist, and this is from Amazon, I just can’t imagine that it’s something I would enjoy.

They ruined Stranger Things with that ploy (along with the surprise lesbianism).
+++++
I made it through 2 seasons. Too gory for me but Season 1 was really well done and the casting was just terrific - particularly Millie Bobby Brown.

But in Season 2 and Season 3 the gore continued and the show became very repetitive and predictable. Not nearly as much fun as Season 1.

I will confess that I get bored pretty easily and so long series like Outlander and such just can’t hold my attention. Same reason: repetitive and predictable.

Your milage may vary, however, so I recommend a look at Stranger Things for at least one season.

It’s bad acting,horrible writing and only fit for the easily amused.

Thanks. I’ll check it out.

“I like to watch stuff that is at least plausible.”

Which, of course, means Superman and basically all other superheroes arr not your cup of tea?

Not any more. I like to watch Breaking Bad, Seal Team, 24, Covert Affairs, Better Call Saul, Good Girls etc., where there's plenty of adventure, heroes, villains and all -- improbable maybe, yet plausible.

I bulled my way thru these 8 episodes. It’s pretty hard core. Language, and even though one of the main characters is a hateful SOB, they take their shots at Christians in a couple episodes. I was pretty disgusted with that.
Concept is realty cool and plausible, but they made it too hard core in my opinion.

I assume you mean before the 1954 Senate hearings.

My collection went back to 1945 (although it was spotty before the Silver Age). I had more Detective and Batman than any other title: many hundreds. Some of my favorites were:

The first 100 issues of The Fantastic Four (Lee/Kirby), “The World’s Greatest Comic Magazine” - which actually was the key single source for major MCU concepts in Phases 1-3 (Cosmic Cube/Tesseract, Kree, Skrulls, Ronin, Him/Adam Warlock, Black Panther, The Inhumans), and story elements (e.g., The Hulk breaking Harlem [FF #25-26, Thing vs. Hulk, the first Marvel continued storyline]), though, ironically, Marvel did not then own the rights, Fox did, so the FF magazine gets no credit;

The return of The Batman in the Neal Adams era (Ra’s al Ghul);

First generation The Uncanny X-Men (Jack Kirby, Neal Adams) before cancellation;

Early Green Lantern (Gil Kane), and Green Lantern/Green Arrow;

Daredevil in the Frank Miller era;

The Avengers after Thor and Iron Man returned (Ultron);

Various periods of [Journey into Mystery with] The Mighty Thor (Destroyer, Hercules, Ego, Celestials).

Journey into Mystery is now Journey into Misery. The Mighty Thor is now the Mighty Boor. The God of Thunder is now The God of Blunder.

A 1500-year-old Norse God is now a 30-year-old Couch Potato.

Disney/Marvel can go Solo without me in Phase 4.

Yet another superhero movie isn’t an antidote for superhero movies.

Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster, both Jews, modelled Kal-El after Moses:

Kal-El was a baby orphan, set adrift by his parents, sent to a foreign land to become a great leader to free people from oppression. The spaceship was his reed basket; outer space was the river Nile.

I was mildly intrigued by rumor of The Doom Patrol, one of my childhood favorites, but I doubt I will be watching any cable/streaming shows, given the Marxist agenda in full, foul bloom.

I made it through Outlander. It was tough slogging at times, but I kept at it. To me, the funniest scene was the dinner party in France that turned into a disaster.

It is a great show, though there are some really gruesome scenes, with people getting "blown up." This is an adults only show, which shines a very dark light on the whole "SuperHero" universe.

There are some really hilarious scenes, with a character known as "The Deep," whose super hero powers are with sea creatures, for instance being able to talk to them.
