SEATTLE, WA — Of the many rage-inducing behaviors you encounter out on the roads, HOV-lane cheaters are among the most infuriating. But there's a subclass of those cheaters who take the infraction one step further by putting a fake passenger in the car to make it look like they're not cheating

HOV lanes are beyond stupid, and yet another hangover dumped on the West by Jerry Brown.

No Diamond Lanes

Do you know what I find more infuriating? HOV lanes themselves.

What a stupid idea.

My HOV dummy identifies as a human so I have nothing to worry about.

“Washington’s New HOV Dummy Law Has Very Steep Penalty”

Sounds more like a law targeted against AOC...which, I believe, is not legal. But until it’s thrown out, I guess she’ll have to drive in the main lanes.

Why would this induce rage in me?

A faker in the hov lane is one less car in the underpriviledged lane.

More power to them.

Un-regulate ride sharing for money apps (uber etc), and you would immediately cut 30% off everyone’s commute time, and save the World to boot.

“In the bill, the lawmakers wrote that the increased fines are an attempt to hit back at cheaters who “incite indignation and anger among fellow transportation systems users.””

That’s manure. They could care less about fellow transportation system users. They want the money through fines. So they invented a way to increase the possibilities. The lib politicians up here lie like a rug.

An example is that families who make less than $24,000 a year—the poorest 20 percent of the state—pay an estimated 17.8 percent of their income toward taxes. The state is ranked 12th in taxation among all 50 states even without a state income tax. You figure where the money is coming from. Easy, they’re taking it, any way they can, and lying about what it is going to.

The obvious solution: Dress your fake rider in a burqa or hijab. No one will dare call BS because it might be RACIST!

If it's the same sex as the driver it's OK, otherwise, you go to jail.

I hate HOV lanes. I dream about when I retire, partnering with someone else and drive down the HOV lanes at 35 mph during rush hour for the fun of it.

I got arrested for having a dummy in my car in Washington.

I said “officer, Ms. Ocasio-Cortez needed a ride.” To no avail...

In California, you’d be driving into the cars ahead of you, at least during rush hour and most of the weekdays.

The 405 freeway at the Sepulvada pass was being worked on for many many many years costing a billion plus.
All they essentially did was add a car pool lane..... Traffic backs up all the time. the car pool lane is nearly empty compared to the rest of the lanes.

Never did fix the rough road a few miles away near Sunset blvd. Drove that route for years and it feels like a washboard.

This is the scenic route.....
