The French Revolution was led by sociopaths who politicized language, much like today’s Jacobins.

The subheading from the article.

Meh, every “never McCainer” and “never Romneyer” could have voted for them and Obama would have still won 2 terms. They were horrible candidates and were determined to hand Obama the election, despite what conservatives did or didn’t do.

These laws reflect the fascist, thought control totalitarian nature of the democrat party.

True, but they had those cool metric clocks and the wild metric calendar!!
Too bad a ten-day week has fewer days off each year!
They thought the dumb Proles would never catch on?

Pure speculation.

If Noonan had any concern about members of today’s Jacobin Club, she’d hop on the #TrumpTrain. Instead, I expect to be spending the evening with George Will discusing how best to support the political efforts of Mitt Romney or Jeb Bush.

If Noonan had any...

The message is NOT always about the messenger.
Yes, Peggy Noonan has gone sideways, but that does not change her current posting.

I’m disappointed in the number of replies going ad hominem and not responding to the article.

Maybe you can find something concerning about this writer?

So, you post an article for review and comment, yet you're disappointed in the comments? Perhaps the next time you treat us with one of your finds you lay some ground rules as to how we should reply?

Not to get personal, but I feel compelled to ask, is an ad hominem approach your sole MO?
You do under it is a fallacious argument?

I do not own the thread, photons is photons!
How you use them is up to you.
YMMV.

I do not own the thread

I know that that's why it's bewildering that you'd complain about comments, especially when I never posted to you directly.

Not really. We know all the votes in those and previous elections and they have already been analyzed and re-analyzed six ways from Sunday. If all the people who voted for Dubya in 2004 (and he got significantly more than just the regular Republican base accounts for) voted for both McCain and Romney, Obama would still have won both elections.

Now I’m confused and bewildered!
Your reply #3 was to ALL,#10 and after was to Dumbgrunt???

Yes, you can have your own opinions but own facts? Not so much.

Not the sharpest knife in the drawer, but I noticed that one.

Try a different line of approach.
How about, 17th Century French culture is far different than today’s US culture.
Different culture, different time and different people...

See how easy that is, very few are concerned about the writer.

Would you believe? No true American would fall for this crap!
That brings up the old Scottsman, a friend of yours?

I like the guy and slip him in occasionally... Just for fun.

Obama would still have won both elections.

Yes, 0 pulled big numbers in 2008, 66M.

And Bush just 51M in 2000 and 62M in 2004.

That said every vote counts, a crossover equals -2, and staying home -1.
Far too many of them.
