In an age of pre-branded franchises and social media currency...DiCaprio remains a global movie star, one whose consistent bankability and acclaim set him apart from his peers...He is arguably the only global superstar left in a film industry in which an interchangeable group of actors regularly suit up in spandex or brandish a lightsaber for the latest billion-dollar earner only to be ignored by audiences outside of franchises...
DiCaprio sits alone atop the Hollywood pantheon without ever having made a comic book movie, family film or pre-branded franchise. Leo is the franchise.
Now, after a four-year absence from the big screen following his Oscar-winning turn in The Revenant, DiCaprio returns July 26 with Sony's Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, Quentin Tarantino's adults-only interpretation of the Manson murders.
After the unprecedented success of Titanic then the highest-grossing movie of all time DiCaprio made a choice that would define his career over the next two decades: Instead of following up the blockbuster with a tried-and-true formula of tentpoles or high-concept thrillers, the Los Angeles native eschewed box office glory to work with the top directors in Hollywood.
Off-camera, DiCaprio has maintained a carefully crafted air of mystery. Some crewmembers on Once Upon a Time were instructed to avoid making eye contact with him, according to an on-set source. At the Cannes Film Festival in May, he brought his parents to the Once Upon a Time premiere but skipped other events on the Croisette despite having his security team do a sweep of a Nikki Beach party to promote the environmental documentary And We Go Green, which he produced with longtime friend Fisher Stevens, who says that they are in talks with John Kerry about producing an eco-minded series about threats to the world's oceans...

Agreed - and I am not even a huge Tom Cruise fan: I like Cruise’s movies (scripts, casts, budgets) more than I like him. But yes, he is more of a real Star than Leo the Unlion.
Thank you. I needed a laugh.
I first noticed Amy Adams in a minor role in an episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and thought she showed promise.
Have you seen Trouble With The Curve?
Aging baseball scout played by CLINT Eastwood, Amy Adams plays his college educated daughter. Justin Timberlake is in it but doesn’t ruin the movie.
Good flick.
LOL! My favorite comment of the night, so far! I didn’t grieve in the movie as Jack drifted away, mainly because I never cared for Leo. Still don’t like him.
Never heard of Amy Adams. I thought she might be the girl in Chasing Amy with Jay and Silent Bob - looks different though
And to a LOT of other normal people with rudimentary reasoning skills. Which eliminates LibTards of course.
I've enjoyed watching Amy Adams in several movies. She played the naive nursing assistant in "Catch Me If You Can" with DiCaprio. She played a naive younger nun in "Doubt" With Meryl Streep as her superior. And she teamed with Streep again in "Julie & Julia", with Streep playing Julia Child.
I certainly don't agree with the politics of most Hollywood creatures, but I think Streep is a fine actress and Amy Adams carried her weight in those films.
She’s a classy lady.
Why would anyone in their right mind consider this whiney little pissant anything more than a celebrity is beyond me. I knew Real Stars, maybe some day I’ll write a book.
