It was another busy weekend for shark sightings, with 15 great whites spotted off the coast of Massachusetts on Saturday and Sunday combined. That's the same number of sharks that were spotted the weekend before. According to the Atlantic White Shark Conservancy's Sharktivity app, seven great white sharks were spotted off Provincetown, one off Truro, two of Wellfleet, one off Orleans and one off Chatham's Monomoy Island. Great whites were also spotted in Cape Cod Bay, off Plymouth and off Cohasset. In the last week alone, there have now been more than 50 great white shark sightings.

Relatively smaller whites in the 6-8- 10 foot range feed generally on fish.
The massive seal colonies on the easterly ocean side Cape Cod beaches have been a magnet for larger white sharks who seek out seals for a meal.
The smaller white sharks born afer the federal proection have started showing up in Cape Cod Bay on the Plymouth / Boston side where they feed on fish like stripers and bluefish.
Large whites have been here in the Bay side also as there is a lot of seals off Manomet point Plymouth.
White shark "interactions" with people in the water can be expected in August and September. -Tom

Someone needs to point the sharks to Hyannis Port. Lots of fat humans there.
Paging Sheriff Brody...
Will a shark be charged with a "hate crime" if it chomps on one of the members of the Provincetown's LGBT community.
Put up signs at all the beaches, facing the water. Problem solved.
someone, organize a girls only weekend for The Squad.
Restoring sea otter or seal populations also restores the shark population.
Resorts with pools just hiked their prices :)
Unfortunately we aren't having a problem with one shark.
There are hundreds of white sharks here; and people are the ones having to adjust , if people think it is a problem.
The white sharks are not going away, with a lifespan of 60- 70 years. White Sharks are protected by the Federal Govt. and cannot be culled. -Tom
I guess they didn’t get the word that blubber butt Ted Kennedy won’t be swimming or driving around there any more.
Yall know me. Know how I earn a livin. Ill catch this bird for you, but it aint gonna be easy. Bad fish. Not like going down to the pond and chasing bluegills and tommycocks.

And we gotta do it quick, thatll bring back your tourists, put all your businesses on a payin basis. But its not gonna be pleasant. I value my neck a lot more than three thousand bucks, chief. Ill find him for three, but Ill catch him, and kill him, for ten. But youve gotta make up your minds. If you want to stay alive, then ante up. If you want to play it cheap, be on welfare the whole winter.
I dont want no volunteers, I dont want no mates, theres too many captains on this island. Ten thousand dollars for me by myself. For that you get the head, the tail, the whole damn thing.
Smelling Elizabeth Warren’s blood in the water?
All those liberals in the water really attracts them, don’t it?
Many years ago the story by so- called white shark experts was white sharks ate only about a month or more.
I never bought into that and contacted by e-mail a white shark researcher on the Farallon Islands.
He told me he observed the same white shark eat a seal every 10 days.
That made more sense to me.
You don't get to weight thousands of pound by eating once a month or longer if there is an opportunity to eat more often, like at a seal buffet.- Tom
The population of large, dangerous, sharks around the world is getting out of hand.
There needs to be a massive culling of whites, bulls, tigers, and even makos and hammerheads.
The attack rate has basically doubled over the last 10 years or so.
Yeah - statistically rare etc. But spearfishing is getting rather too exciting these days.
