Malkin: Defund Lutherans for Open Borders Now!
Real Clear Politics ^ | July 17, 2019 | Michelle Malkin

If you were shocked by the images of the Mexican flag flying over an Aurora, Colorado, immigration detention center this weekend, you'll be appalled at an even more disgusting spectacle:

One of the top promoters of the so-called Lights for Liberty nationwide protests by Trump-hating, ICE-bashing radicals was a nonprofit religious organization known as the Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service. As a designated "host," LIRS played a key role in publicizing, organizing and participating in demonstrations against President Donald Trump's deportation enforcement actions targeting some 2,000 illegal immigrants and their families who have ignored removal orders or skipped out on court hearings.

Brazen hatred of cops, Border Patrol and ICE agents were on full display at the open borders protests fronted by LIRS and other left-wing groups, including Code Pink, CASA and CAIR. Marchers echoed the "Close the Concentration Camps" rhetoric of Congressional Brat Pack Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.). They carried signs declaring "ICE=Gestapo" and "Free the People, Burn the Camps." It's not just idle rhetoric. Antifa thug Willem Van Spronsen, armed with a rifle and incendiary devices, attempted to set a Tacoma ICE facility on fire on Saturday before being shot dead. He has been hailed as a "hero" and a "martyr" by fellow "progressive" travelers, while sympathetic mainstream reporters and activists look the other way.

The president and CEO of LIRS, Krishanti Vignarajah, is a Sri Lankan refugee and former Michelle Obama policy director who led the Lights for Liberty event in Washington, D.C. She argues that Americans are obligated to open the floodgates at the southern border (since she turned out so great) and vehemently opposes what she calls "militant border enforcement." To these border-sabotaging radicals, of course, any border enforcement is "militant."

LIRS sounds like just the kind of extremist group you'd...

The head of LIRS is a practicing Hindu...

Since almost their entire budget comes from the federal government they likely see no need to heed the church other than to continue wearing the sheep’s clothing it stupidly provides.

Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service.

Should be known by the acronym “LIARS.” Aren’t these “fine people” the ones who pushed to have the Midwest infested by Somali trash?

Be curious to know who authorizes all the federal funding they get. Given that the 9th Circuit just overturned a nationwide injunction and stated that the administration can withhold funds from sanctuary cities, I would think/hope that taking away money from the refugee scams would fit in that decision in some way. And then have the IRS, DOJ, Treasury did into their books to look for all the fraud and then prosecute them.

If the Left and its supporters are so wanting and charitable for these poor refugees to come here, let them donate out of their own pockets.

Somalis are not ‘trash.’ Every one of them is as much a creation of God as you are, with every human failing, yet so loved by God that he sent his Son to die for them, and not just us.

There are, however, a great many Somalis who represent a threat to the religious liberty and lives of the rest, which is why there’s probably only about 10,000 Christians left in Somalia. Any Muslims that persecuted Christians in Somalia were bound to do it here as well, and these are threat to everyone’s religious liberty. So why were they brought over...the first Somalis, the truly persecuted ones could not be thrilled by that, only terrified.

The question is, why did so-called charitable organizations, after bringing over persecuted Christians, assist in serving as cover for, rather than objecting to, bringing in second and nth waves of the very people who persecuted the first?

There is the obligation to love one’s enemies, but we can love them without bringing them here. So why did they bring them here? It looks like they simply chose the pieces of silver over the welfare of the flock.

aiding and abetting a crime IS a crime

PROSECUTE

Lutherans?

Such an organization could call itself anything they want usually, something like this as a ploy to sucker money out of the unwary.

Interesting...speaking of LIRS' Vignarajah

I wonder if money intended for refugees is finding its way into campaign coffers?

Maryland Dem Gov Candidate Caught Voting In Washington While Registered In Maryland, Republican Governor's Association ^ | August 11, 2017 | RGA
Maryland Democrat gubernatorial candidate Krishanti Vignarajah’s campaign roll-out is off to a rough start. Just days after declaring her candidacy, it was reported that she has been a registered Washington, D.C. voter, despite also being registered in Maryland, and has cast her votes in DC elections since 2010. Even though Vignarajah lived just minutes away from Maryland for years and maintained a Maryland residence, she chose to vote in DC. Bethesda Magazine reports: “Vignarajah, 37, an attorney, first registered to vote in Maryland in 2006 at an address in Catonsville. However, she didn’t vote in the state until the 2016

A lot of the "mainstream Lutheran" - think ELCA - orgs were co-opted by the left a very long time ago, allowing some very bad people to set policies diametrically opposed to the Gospel, while providing a sort of residual religious camouflage. There are still some - mostly older - people I know who automatically assume that the word "Lutheran" is a guarantor of trustworthiness, and whenever they begin to have doubts, their new young pastor assures them that bad is actually good.

Check out some of the leftists, gay priders and pan-Islamists who are faculty at "Lutheran" colleges like Luther in Decorah and Wartburg in Waverly. The "welfare of the flock" means something completely different nowadays.

Interesting reading the last link...particularly the part alleging they had spent a lot on IT work and had built a database of refugees info that was spread around. That sounds a lot like the Obama database project for political purposes.

Our goal through this self-examination is to strengthen the organization and assist the Board in leading LIRS. To oversee this process, LIRS has engaged the services of Kathy Hoskins and Mark Saudek of Baltimore-based Gallagher Evelius & Jones LLP.

Which is why we left the Lutheran Church in the 80’s when ELCA took control
As far as I know, Missouri Synod is still viable......not apostate

They are affiliated with the ELCA an apostate Sunday morning social club that calls itself Lutheran. They are not.

To these apostate Lutherans, ‘trash’ are congregants that believe marriage is one man and one woman, biblically.

The ELCA hierarchy went apostate and leftist long ago, along with RCC, PCUSA, ECUSA, NBCUSA and on sand on.

If they’re a member of The World Council of Churches, linked below, consider them apostate. If you’re part of one of these, flee from it.

The LCMS is indeed viable and standing for Truth. May she do so until our Lord returns.
