Yep, the ongoing story of remakes and sequels continues.

Someone told me that there’s a major reason for so many remakes and sequels.

And that reason is that the bean counters are in charge.

A movie which was a big hit movie, already has a built in audience, so the bean counters can easily predict a sequel will make “x” amount of revenue. And that should translate into a profit.

Any new movies coming out, it becomes a roll of the dice as to whether it will be profitable and popular. But a recycled movie, already has that built in fan base who will go see the latest sequel or remake.

Any new movies coming out, it becomes a roll of the dice as to whether it will be profitable and popular. Samuel Goldwyn was a gambler. He made movies the same way he played poker. Bet big, win big.
