I’ve had relatives and friends from various other parts of the country tell me they had unexplained power outages in the past week.

It's summer and hot. Extra power usage by A/C's to keep cool overload the power grids. Not unusual.

You could be right. But in at least one case, the person lived next door to a power company worker who generally knows the inside scoop on what happened and according to him it was “unexplained”. That was the interesting part.

I’m willing to mark this down as coincidence as long as we don’t see a string of them.
