I consider using God’s name in vain is when you do evil and then say you did it for the Lord. Like Islam does everyday.

Actually, it is to falsely represent God... i.e. False prophecy.
To claim “Thus sayeth the Lord”... When the Lord did not instruct to speak on His behalf is a form of blasphemy of the Holy Spirit... which is the unforgivable sin.
