beatiful. Did the Legion function turn out well yesterday?
We are having Jenny;s parents and my music man friend Bill (all British) over at noon for an English Fry up. all are 88; Ill take pix and if able transfer a couple here. Two kinds of eggs, traditional English beans, bacon, scrumptious bread/toast in 3 offerings, cheese/cinnamon sugar and plain for jam. Making a fruit salad with watermelon, strawberries, blueberries, raspberries and pomegranate . Jen is having mimosas with OJ and Proseco.. which we both prefer over chamaign
Afterwards going to British American Club here in Twinsburg where Jenny’s condo is. None have been to the British American Club but our Early Jazz group has been meeting there once a month on Sunday for a decade. And today is the meeting day. Wll be a jam session. Bill is a musician = plays keyborad and banjo. For many years he was the entertainment coordinator and performer at NE Ohio Seaworld. To this day anywhere we go you can count on people coming up to him, recognizing him. He has NOT changed his distinctive look for 40 years. I can recall once at an airport in Chicago he was approached by a fan.
twinsburg’s most notable claim to fame is the yearly hosting in August of the Twins Festival. Mostly twins but a lot of other multiples. There is a huge parade, many social activities, talent competition, carnival festiveness (no rides) and great food vending added to the rich array of local and not to far away restaurants in communities like Hudson and Solon
Going to be hot today. Last night I watered here at her condo. She has a huge amount of garden area around the complex near her back sliding door and front door. Veggies and gorgeous flowers.. mostly periennel but some annuals. All is quite dry. She normally jut puts a sprinkler out but most of water goes on lawn and a pattering on the plants in need. Took about an hour.
It brought back memories of my mom watering when we were young. All the neighborhood kids loved sprinkler or the nozzle attacks by fun loving mom’s when watering.
My house is a pain for watering. I use buckets and haul from my rain barrel.. which water is collected from overflowing gutters . I did clean one gutter over garage on Thursday. Took 2 hours on ladder and filled up two lawn carts with the plants, sill , pine needles etc. I was really hot and tired afterward. My hair and shirt were soaked with perspiration. I was pretty nervous on the extension ladder. Just a few years ago I would frequently be up on all the roofs (3 levels) to clean up. My balance issues and foot numbness from surgery and break 5 years ago make a difference.
New thread probably on Rally Day. Will try to have it up early.
Have a good Lord’s day all... Hugs/love from NE Ohio
Oh I forgot on the breakfast.. the traditional british mushroom and fresh tomatoes saute.
Sounds like a wonderful day you all have planned with delicious food and entertainment.
Enjoy, put you cares on the shelf for another day.
Yes, it went very well.
