The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Office says 69-year-old Barbara Thomas, of Bullhead City, was last seen Friday wearing a black bikini, a red baseball cap and tan hiking boots with black socks.
The office says Thomas and her husband were hiking in the Mojave Desert approximately 20 miles (32 kilometers) north of the I-40 freeway when they got separated.

I know the area extremely well. I think they handled the search wrong. Right were she went missing is the grazing range of my very good friend and rancher Rob. He has lived right there his whole life as did his father and knows every rock and bush.
If they had just contacted him first he would have loaded up a horse and tracked her down from the car in just a few hours. Instead they trampled the whole desert up hiding her tracks. City people trying to do a rancher’s task.

Totally continuing to avoid deserts. Have been to Las Vegas. Will never move to Las Vegas, or any other desert area.

Lol! I live in the middle of the Great Basin Desert on the California/Nevada border/ Love it here. Two 14,000 foot mountain ranges on either side of me, it can be 100 degress out but with 1 to 5% humidity feels much cooler. This isn't like Vegas or the Mojave Desert where this lady is lost. I have been there many times. Wouldn't want to get lost in that very, very, remote area.
I would never lose somebody walking near me.
One can always call out.

Pretty sure it was a different lady they found in Bishop. From what I understand from the locals I am in contact, with Ms Thomas is still missing.
