I’ve heard of Joe Foreman, and I’ve heard of Mohammed Ali. But somehow the name Pernell Whitaker escapes me. So much for him being “one of the greatest boxers in history.”

So much for you knowing anything about boxing. It’s George Foreman, Joe Frazier, and Muhammed Ali, all of which you managed to botch.

40-4-1-1 is a very good record.
He was a much lighter weight than Heavyweight.

George Foreman.

Whitaker won world titles in four weight classes... he was definitely one of the top fighters ever.

I don’t even like boxing and I know who Pernell Whitaker is. That guy was a magnificent fighter, and always seemed like he was having fun in the ring.

I once saw a fight where he was way ahead by every measure, and he spent the entire last round letting his opponent flail away at him in desperation. He ducked, bobbed, and weaved all over the place, and I don’t think he threw a single punch himself. He even ducked beneath a jab and tried to pull the other guy’s shorts down once, if I remember correctly. LOL.

RIP, Sweet Pea.
