The Duchess of Cambridge has presented Novak Djokovic with the trophy after he won his fifth Wimbledon title by defeating Roger Federer in an epic five hour thriller this afternoon.
In one of the most dramatic matches the All England Club has ever witnessed, Djokovic defied a crowd screaming for his opponent by becoming the first player to win a singles match on a deciding tie-break after the last set was drawn 12-12.
Djokovic had saved two match points when Federer served for victory at 8-7 in the deciding set and went on to take it 7-6 (5) 1-6 7-6 (4) 4-6 13-12 (3) after four hours and 57 minutes.
Federer had hoped to follow up his emotional semi-final victory over Rafael Nadal by completing the double over his other great rival for the first time at a grand slam, but it was not to be.
They were playing in front of a capacity crowd packed with celebrities including Jeff Bezos and his girlfriend Lauren Sanchez, actor Benedict Cumberbatch and model Kendall Jenner.

Fed fan, but if he stays healthy physically and mentally I think Djokivic may end up with more slams than Fed or Rafa.
Hoping I am wrong.
anyone know what the deal was with winner eating the grass?
Wimbledon is so picky I am surprised he isnt fined.
The taste of victory.
Chris Evert, not Everette :-)
He played tennis with Prince George. Supposedly future King’s favorite player.
I have no idea who these people are. Is that the same woman with Bezos? Her daughter?
You know David Beckham?
His son.
>>At least nobody can accuse Bezo of choosing women for their looks.<<
He selects them for their ability to create a vacuum.
I watched on TV how Mrs. Djokovic squeezed and kissed a religious medal (I assume she was praying for a win for her husband) I wonder if she was just as jubilantly thankful after his victory. The rich and famous usually think that they fully deserve their success, without question it.
OK, i kinda guessed Bozos, but that thing next to him for $1/2B???
he deserved to lose it...
13-12 in the fifth set! And only because of the new rule. That set might have gone to over 20 games apiece or until one or the other collapsed.
They were both class acts in the presentation and interviews after the match.
She must have certain skills!
I am one of those people not happy with the new rule. The final should be played until there is a winner. Everyone is wussifying sports.
