the one eye covered patch that has been so popular with some celebs in the music industry lately might be a (symbolism will be their downfall) pointer to a practice of removing a victim’s eye to give access to the pineal gland in vivo. There’s lots of myths and legends associated with the pineal gland.
And this might also be where the “Black Eye Club” comes from. Celebs, politicals and financial power people joining a club where the consumption of the product of such a ceremony or participating/witnessing such a ceremony is part of the “perks” and the black eye is a badge of having been initiated.

Are there one-eyed celebs? The only person I can think of with an eye patch is Rep. Crenshaw, who definitely does NOT fall into that category. As far as I can tell he is staunchly conservative.
