I’ve wondered this myself.

How did a high school wrestling coach ‘decide’ to run for statewide public office...? (hastert...)

You both make great points. I’d forgotten about Hastert.

At the time, it seemed like “nice! a non-lawyer running for office”. And I didn’t really pay much attention beyond that. That was probably more attention than I usually pay or that the average person pays. Because how much time do we have to research and vet all these candidates???

Most of us are way too busy working and raising families, maybe squeezing in some time to volunteer for our church or a charity. What’s left? Not much. Most of us (not all) on the Q threads are retired or otherwise have extra time. Kudos to those who are managing to read/post/research on top of a full time job and/or raising kids.

So how do we change this? How do we vet candidates? Obviously the media is not to be trusted. They actively hid all the dirt on 0vomit. And others.

What do Q and our common sense teach us, after a year and a half of this and a lifetime of observation.

To be on #TeamDerp, it's best that you come pre-compromised. That saves them the trouble of having to compromise you themselves.

The better to control you, my dear.
