I stay on qmap page and refresh over and over and over trying to just once be the first to post a new Q drop.

I look away for just a sec and what happens?

Bottom line is some of us are actually reading the bread where Q posts. Qmap and the Q apps rely on a feed from Chan. The app retrieval of the API feed is definitely faster than QMap. My bet is that Qmap requests a new feed at an interval that is greater than the native apps. For instance Qmap might request the feed on a 1 minute interval and the app might request the feed at 10 second intervals. Since the app is using YOUR data it can afford to do that. The owners of Qmap might not want to use up their bandwidth for a faster interval.
