President Trump congratulated the U.S. Women’s Soccer Team for winning the 2019 World Cup against the Netherlands in a tweet on Sunday, despite a dispute with one of its co-captains, Megan Rapinoe.
“Congratulations to the U.S. Women’s Soccer Team on winning the World Cup! Great and exciting play. America is proud of you all!” he tweeted:

Trump responded to her comment by tweeting to her, “I am a big fan of the American Team, and Women’s Soccer, but Megan should WIN first before she TALKS! Finish the job! We haven’t yet invited Megan or the team, but I am now inviting the TEAM, win or lose.”
“Megan should never disrespect our Country, the White House, or our Flag, especially since so much has been done for her & the team. Be proud of the Flag that you wear. The USA is doing GREAT!”

Actually, this is coming. And, it will be intersting to see how the women react.
Great win. Now the politics will begin. Refusing to go to the WH will make the Dems happy. They will use the USNWT as a pawn against Trump. In the long term it will hurt women’s soccer. You don’t alienate 63 million Tump voters without consequence. Too bad. Politicizing sports hurts the athletes the worst. Some like Rapinoe will profit, but most of the team and future members will be the big losers along with women’s soccer in general.
The woman's team would lose to 50 U-15 elite boys teams in the US. Sure they can play against other lesbians, but they are slower and weaker.
Yeah, I enjoyed watching my children play grade school and high school sports. People get caught up in winning.
But it is not world class soccer. It is a different game. Slow and boring.
TO BLAME AN ENTIRE TEAM FOR THE BRAZEN REMARKS AND UNPATRIORIC BEHAVIOR OF A FEW IS WRONG. GOD BLESS OUR PRESIDENT AND THIS GREAT COUNTRY.
All the American Soccer players are not America hating and we need to understand that and enjoy the win. Megan may be a great soccer player but that does not make her a role model or a nice person. She is disrespectful to the country the president and her fellow team members.
Finally...something Trump, Obama, and some Freepers can agree on...women’s soccer.

The worst team in the MLS, one of the weaker professional men’s leagues would beat this team 20-0, at least.

Calling Rapinoe a loser is no different than what lesko did. If what Rapinoe did is so wrong, then why didn’t her fellow team members voice that opinion or even say they would not support her for this action as they didn’t want to insult the many that Rapinoe insulted. They didn’t. So they supported her anti American actions with silence except one member that came out and openly supported her because she was a team mate thus saying the same thing Rapinoe did.
They let Rapinoe talk for them and embarrassed the United States in front of the world. I hope you don’t call that honorable, it isn’t. They’re a disgrace and I’m sad I was represented by a group of money hungry, infantile “political prostitutes” that used their spotlight to downgrade the country that made them their millions and gave them notoriety when all we asked of them was to give their best effort and represent us in the games in return . They are a disgrace for what they said and what they should have said.

In 2017, this same US team lost 5-2 to a HIGH SCHOOL boys soccer team, whose oldest players were 15 years of age.
I wanted them to lose also.
15 and under boys high school team beat them 5-2 a few years back.
Sure, but is that any different than any other sport? It’s usually down to strength and speed. I can still appreciate the competition at their level, I thought they played with significant skill.
I agree with what you’re saying but Rapinoe is also a captain that is much older than many of the other players. I’d be surprised if anyone else spoke out against her, even if they did it would only hurt team cohesion. Maybe the right thing to do was to not make it worse and let Rapinoe be judged by her own words.

Oh BS. Rapino speaks for herself as everyone does. The others are smart enough to realize their goal is to win the world cup for the US so they keep their mouth shut so as not to tear the team apart. Obviosly you’ve never been on a serious tournament team before. I will not lay the sins of rapino on others, if they come out and say stupid things like rapino does then they can answer for it. Guilt by association, some of you on this board are barely passed Hammurabi’s Law. I saw pretty much all of them parading around our Flag as was damn happy to see it, knowing Team USA is #1 in the world, as it should be. I think a lot of folks on this board are snowflakes just like millenials, a bunch of panzies to be honest.
